Waste Management
Air Pollutants Control
Bohui Paper strictly abides by the Atmospheric Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China, formulates and implements waste gas management procedures based on the Ambient Air Quality Standard, the Emission Standards for Odor Pollutants, the Emission Standard of Volatile Organic Compounds, the Regional and Integrated Emission Standard of Air Pollutants, and relevant local air pollutant emission standards, and strictly controls waste gas emissions from various links such as waste gas collection, treatment, and monitoring.
The air pollutants produced by the Company during the production process mainly include particulate matter, VOCs, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and odour. In 2022, based on national and local environmental protection policies and regulations such as the Measures for the Self-Monitoring and Information Disclosure by the Enterprises subject to Intensive Monitoring and Control of the State (for Trial Implementation), technical specifications for environmental monitoring, and the Company's own situation, the Company revised the Environmental SelfMonitoring Plan to conduct monthly or quarterly air pollutant detection, carry out self-monitoring activities and information disclosure in a more standardised manner, and clarify the air pollution emissions.

Each production base set up annual management plans in accordance with local laws and regulations, tapping the potential of each link to reduce emissions and improving the overall management level. In 2022, the running hours of the gas-related production lines at Shandong Base of Bohui Paper dropped significantly, with a subsequent reduction in air pollutant emissions. Jiangsu Base of Bohui Paper set up an unorganised waste gas emission management plan, collecting unorganised waste gas emission under negative pressure through air collectors and then treating it to meet standards, effectively reducing unorganised waste gas emissions. Jiangsu Base of Bohui Paper also strengthened the management of dust removal at the workshop sites and enhanced control over VOCs emissions. During the reporting year, Bohui Paper's emissions of major air pollutants further decreased, with emissions of SO 2, NO x, soot and VOCs decreased by 79.36%, 73.90%, 56.22% and 73.72%, respectively year-on-year.
Waste Management
Bohui Paper strictly complies with the relevant laws, regulations and standard requirements such as the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste, the Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China, the Regulations on the Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals, and the Standards for the Control of Pollution by Hazardous Waste Landfills, and has formulated rules and regulations such as the Hazardous Waste Management System and the Resource Recycling Operation Guidelines to carry out compliance and safe disposal of general solid wastes and hazardous wastes in accordance with solid waste management principles of "reduction, recycling, and harmless disposal of waste". In addition, the Company has developed a standardised management process and supervisory responsibility system to standardise the waste disposal process and clarify the responsibilities of each department in the production base to ensure that the wastes are disposed to reach standards.
Generally, solid wastes are disposed of directly by the Company or in cooperation with external parties. The Company's procurement department, environmental protection department and other departments coordinate and cooperate to conduct strict qualification review and on-site inspection of solid waste disposal contractors to ensure that the general solid waste disposal process is legal and of compliance. Each production base of Bohui Paper has set a 100% solid waste collection target and continuously increases the proportion of general solid wastes recycling and reuse. In 2022, solid wastes in all production bases were disposed of up to standards.

In terms of hazardous waste disposal, the Company entrusts companies with hazardous waste transportation qualifications to transport them out of the mill and entrusts qualified units to carry out hazardous waste treatment. In response to the Technical Guideline for Deriving Hazardous Waste Management Plans and Records newly implemented by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China in June 2022, Jiangsu Base of Bohui Paper has newly revised the Operating Instructions for Hazardous Waste Management Plans and Management Ledger Records and relevant forms and procedures, requiring relevant responsible persons and production units to further regulate the treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes.
